The City of Tecumseh/Johnson County Public Transit serves the general public, including persons with disabilities, in all of Johnson County on a demand-responsive basis. We have one van (9-passenger & 2 wheelchair passengers with seats removed) that is lift-equipped. Cities served include Tecumseh, Elk Creek, Vesta, Crab Orchard, Sterling, St. Mary and Cook. Appointments first come, first served. You must call 24hrs in advance for an appointment.

Bus and administrative hours are:

Monday - Friday 7:30a.m.-12:00p.m. & 12:30p.m.-2:30p.m.

(Closed all major holidays, inclement weather or when the bus is in the shop)

Monthly Trips:

First Monday of the Month - to Beatrice

Second Monday of the Month - to Lincoln

(If a holiday falls on one of these Mondays, the trip is moved to the following Monday.)

Rate Schedule: (Driver accepts cash/checks on bus or debit card at City Hall)

Elderly, Disabled and General Public (all fares are the same)

**$2 per ride for city - $4 round trip - $2 each additional stop with advance booking. $4 without 24-hour advance booking.

**$4 per ride for county (out of city limits) - $8 round trip - $2 each additional stop (in city limits). $8 without 24-hour advance booking.

**$20 to Beatrice or Lincoln - $15 for passengers picked up in other communities (Syracuse, Unadilla, Palmyra, Adams, Bennet, Burr and Douglas) on the way to Beatrice or Lincoln.

(Fares are per boarding, so the higher fare listed would be for each trip if there is no 24hr advance booking.)
