The citizens of Tecumseh voted to support the Tecumseh Economic Development Program in 1998. This program allows us to collect ½% of the city sales tax to be utilized for economic development activities.

The city of Tecumseh recognizes that the attraction of new business and industry to our community, or the expansion of existing business or industry, must take place in a very competitive manner. In order to keep Tecumseh, Nebraska as competitive as possible the above mentioned funds are available for any project or program for the purpose of providing direct or indirect financial assistance to any qualifying businesses or industries.

The general intent and goal of the Tecumseh Economic Development Program is to provide jobs to the citizens of Tecumseh, Nebraska, by encouraging and assisting local businesses to expand both in regards to job creation and capital investment and to recruit new qualifying businesses which results in creation of jobs and expansion of the tax base.

The Tecumseh Economic Development board is made up of an economic developer and five community leaders:

  • Bev Ramsey

  • Dr. Keith Shuey
